Yoga is more than just Asana. Our training honors the roots of Yoga, helping you develop a rich understanding of the Yogic tradition. You’ll be immersed in its History, Asana, Philosophy, Energy Body, Anatomy and Spirituality.

Our Certification offers two unique elements only available at Sweet Water: Reiki Level 1 Attunement and a Yoga Trainee Retreat. Included in the Tuition, these offerings will expand your understanding of Energy and integrate your learnings even more deeply.

An extensive Yoga practice is not required to participate in this program. We invite you to enroll if you’d like to teach, wants to deepen your understanding of Yoga, your own spirituality, or develop your personal practice.

Whatever your goal, you’ll graduate from our program with a deep understanding of this ancient tradition, creating balance and peace throughout life’s complexities.

Our Yoga Alliance-approved 200 hour Yoga Teacher Certification trains and empowers a new generation of yoga instructors to lead classes that are healing, inclusive, trauma-informed, and inspiring. Our curriculum meets the Yoga Alliance’s Elevated RSY-200 Standards.

Growth happens in the place where engaged effort meets peaceful ease.  We guide practitioners through their asanas, from solid set-up to the fullest expression their ability and development allows.

Reiki Attunement

In addition to the 200 Hour YTT Certification, Trainees also graduate having received their Reiki Level 1 attunement to further enhance graduates offerings and marketability.

Reiki (pronounced “ray-key”) is an ancient Japanese tradition that uses a series of hand symbols and movements to guide "Ki”, life force energy”, to cleanse and heal. This powerful healing art can be a great Guide to our spiritual wisdom and collective healing.

 

Yoga Teacher Retreat.

Yoga in Nature is a very special treat. Unique to Sweet Water, we’ll spend a weekend in nature a few hours from NYC to deepen our studies, reflect , and deepen our connection to each other. Yoga can be done anywhere but when under the canopy of a forest, it’s a special treat.

Fall and Spring Cohorts will have retreats occur on the weekends. Summer Intensive Cohorts will have a weekday retreat. Dates will be announced during orientation.

Retreats will include outdoor yoga, homemade meals, and activities to integrate your learnings and deepen your practice in nature.

 

RYT-200 Certification.

Participants receive Yoga Alliance 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher Certification to teach Hatha & Vinyasa yoga at any institution in the United States.

Graduates will have received more than 200 hours worth of training.

Certification is granted through a series of comprehensive written and oral examinations.

Certification Requirements

  • Tuition paid in full or in agreed to installment plan

  • Attending all classes

  • Passing all examinations

  • Creating a consistent yoga practice

  • Regularly taking SWDY yoga classes

 

Admissions.

We recommend that you’re familiar with a yoga practice before the start of your program; however, no prior experience is required to enroll.

Participants are not required to teach Yoga after graduating. We encourage you to apply if you want to begin, refine and deepen your Yogic and spiritual practices.

This course can be as smooth as it is rigorous and intense. Much material is covered and we ask students to commit seriously to home study, consistent application, and regular attendance.

Can I pay my purchase early?

Absolutely! There’s no penalty for paying early.

How do I make my payments?

Payments are also scheduled at time of payment. You can make or schedule payments at affirm.com or in the Affirm app for iOS or Android.

Can I get a refund with Affirm?

Yes, you can receive a refund if it falls within the refund policy. Please see below. If approved, your refund will be returned through Affirm, not Sweet Water.

Does checking my eligibility affect my credit score?

No, your credit score won’t be affected when you create an Affirm account or check your eligibility. If you decide to buy with Affirm, it may impact your credit score. You can find more information in Affirm’s Help Center.

Do I need a mobile number to use Affirm?

Yes, you’ll need a mobile phone number from the U.S. or U.S. territories. This helps Affirm verify it’s really you who is creating your account and signing in.

Refund Policy.

Refunds are subject to studio approval. Registration Fee is Non-Refundable. No Exceptions.

An applicant who withdraws from the program 30 Days before the Start Date is entitled to a refund of all monies except for their non-refundable deposit. 

A trainee who withdraws from the course within the first 20 classroom hours may be refunded up to 75% of the program price. The non-refundable deposit remains 100% non-refundable. 

After the first 20 classroom hours, there will be no refunds. If the applicant withdraws from the program for any reason, the applicant will be responsible for paying the full tuition via Affirm, regardless of any partial payments that have been made to date.

No monies will be refunded to any students who are dismissed. Monies will not be refunded if you do not complete your training.
